Shakhtar specifically are proud when traditional clubs from Europe come knocking, and I knew it would be quite hard to convince them to let me join City. Listen, I am absolutely thankful for the opportunity they gave me, but I also think I worked my socks off for that club, and it was time to look after my career.
My time at Pop has been a transformative experience that I am extremely proud of. It has afforded me the chance to collaborate with some of the greatest creative minds in the world, and I’m thankful to Ashley Heath and Bauer Media for the opportunity.
I’m just so lucky – my office is a racetrack. That is something I’m very thankful for. So when I look back at ‘Saw’ and ‘Insidious,’ I just think, ‘Wow. Both of those films went way past what we ever could’ve dreamt for them’ and it makes me genuinely thankful, like every single day, once a day, even if it’s just for thirty seconds, sitting in my car, I have a moment where I’m like, I can’t believe I’m here.
I feel like I’m doing what I love. If I can get out, shoot, film and climb, and be with my friends and family, I’m happy. It doesn’t take a lot. I don’t need to climb huge mountains. I have a deep connection with wilderness and the environment, and I’m thankful for that.
I am very proud of being Brazilian, but I am also thankful for having the chance to play in Germany for four and a half years. I have completely changed the way I play football because Germany is a tougher, faster game which is more tactical with tighter marking.

Every musician, their goal in life is to play music that people love, and I’ve accomplished my goal. I was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and left that chapter of my life and those people in the past. Good and bad, I’ve loved and am thankful for that chapter.
What’s funny is my mom took me to the theater for the first time when I was six years old, and I was just amazed by it. I just said, ‘Hey Mom, can I do this too?’ And so she signed me up for little theater classes, and I remember my first audition for a play when I was seven years old was for ‘The Thankful Elf.’
I’m certainly thankful for what the Cubs did for me. I respect their organization. It’s the same way with the Atlanta Braves, an awfully fine organization. I respect everybody who’s down there, and that’s still where I live today. But the Cardinals represent the best years of my career.
Just don’t let the hype of what people are saying and how much they love you, y’know, just take the compliment and be thankful that people are complimenting you, but don’t let it consume you; don’t let your circumstances around you and the way people view you make you act a certain way.
