All I ever wanted really, and continue to want out of life, is to give 100 percent to whatever I’m doing and to be committed to whatever I’m doing and then let the results speak for themselves. Also to never take myself or people for granted and always be thankful and grateful to the people who helped me.
I’m thankful to have Jesus as my Savior. My relationship with God has always been one to where I’m talking to him all day, every day, about anything and everything. It’s just a continuous ongoing conversation that I have with the Lord, and I feel like that’s brought me closer to Him.
If you reflect often on how His Atonement has changed you, and if you give thanks often, you will find that your witness of Him gains power to touch the hearts of others. When those you invite out of your own testimony feel that witness, they will come to accept Him as their Lord and Savior.
We’ve always had each other’s backs in and out of competition. We support each other the most because we’re the only ones that know what it’s like to go through what we do, and so we can’t be more thankful for each other. We’re like sisters.

I am very, very proud I am also Turkish and both of my parents are from Turkey. I was born in Germany and grew up there. By playing football, I learned my different cultures, and that is an advantage if you grow up as a person. You get a different view on certain things. I am very, very thankful I was able to pick the best from many cultures.
I want you to say ‘Never Forget’ because when you say ‘Never Forget’ you’re thanking that veteran in a different way. You’re allowing them to be thankful for the idea for the fact that as an American you’re in it with them. We’re in it together and we don’t forget together.
I am definitely a Type A personality, always rushing around, trying to do too much, not good at just lying on the beach. ‘In A World…’ changed my life a thousand per cent. I feel thankful that something I believed in so much – I love dialect, so I dedicated five years of my life to making a film about it – yielded such rewards. It led to ‘Man Up,’ as well as ‘No Escape,’ which comes out later this year… two movies where I am the female lead.
There’s a lot of women in the WNBA. There’s a lot of women who could be here. To be voted by the fans says a lot – that people are aware of what’s going on. I’m really thankful. I think they just really appreciate my talent so I’m definitely grateful.
