Yes, it is a rehearsed show, yes, it was analogy of going to see a play at the theatre, where everything has to be in place and whole things, everything being works, all works together to get the best effect you know it’s more like an actor learning a part.
So, I went to McGill University in Montreal to study soil chemistry and microbiology, which I did complete, but realized early that little of this could be applied in our country, because we were learning of a Green Revolution that would suit a farmer who had 3,500 acres and not our poor farmer.
Concepts like edX and online learning will transform education. This will completely change the world. I believe that people will move to online learning, both on campuses and worldwide. We have a real opportunity to be able to bring people around the world into our fold.
What makes this story so remarkable is that throughout my early childhood I had ongoing learning difficulties, particularly in mathematics. I struggled to learn the multiplication table, and no matter how hard I tried, I simply couldn’t remember 6 times 7 or 7 times 8.
The learning curve on soaps is through the roof because it’s a three-camera setup. There’s a master and then there’s two singles. And the great thing about soaps, and soap actors will tell you, is that when you get your line wrong, they don’t re-shoot it. They just cut to the person listening.
Why aren’t we talking about it in health classes in school? That’s just as important as learning about physical health and nutrition. Why aren’t we learning about our minds and our mental health and mental illnesses? I just think that it’s something that very much needs to go hand in hand.
My kid is seven years old and is learning to read and conjugate, but I don’t agree with that kind of education because I feel that the concepts are not contextualized… it’s interesting to try to make my kid a reflective boy, rather than just a repetitive boy, even if he doesn’t agree with me.
As a kid, I was school swot, but I used to hang around the billiard halls, learning that Geordie sense of humour, mixing with low-lifes. They were the sort who’d pick your pocket and then say ‘Here you are lad, here’s tuppence, get yourself some chips’. I was a good rugby player, a good runner, so I fitted in at Cambridge quite easily.
I’m a football fanatic. I love the game of football. I love learning new things, and I love being taught things. So I try to learn as much as I can, and even at a young age, I was really focused on how to be better and trying to learn all the techniques.
With every episodic, there’s a learning curve where writers try to find the voice of the characters by way of the actors. Many details are found along the way. On ‘Caprica,’ although the franchise already existed, we were creating an entirely new world full of new characters.
I am a candid interview and I have a dark and dry sense of humor – a very Canadian sense of humor and I am only learning now stupidly that you can’t read tongue. When I say something funny in a newspaper and I meant it to be funny, it doesn’t read that way.
Learning that whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables can help prevent many cancers, including cancers of the prostate, breast, mouth, throat, esophagus, lung, colon, kidney, pancreas, thyroid, gallbladder, and probably other cancer types is a powerful lesson that can have a significant impact on children’s lives.
My father once said about being a parent that it is the only thing you do that requires a very long period of learning, and at about the time that you are becoming competent, you don’t need the skills anymore. Notwithstanding this modest assessment of their parenting skills, they were wonderful parents.
Instead of giving money to found colleges to promote learning, why don’t they pass a constitutional amendment prohibiting anybody from learning anything? If it works as good as the Prohibition one did, why, in five years we would have the smartest race of people on earth.
I think this industry can be tough on everyone. You have to surround yourself with supportive people and know when to put your foot down and do what’s best for you and your family. The first few years in the music industry can be a steep learning curve, and I’ve definitely developed a thicker skin!
Narcissist: psychoanalytic term for the person who loves himself more than his analyst; considered to be the manifestation of a dire mental disease whose successful treatment depends on the patient learning to love the analyst more and himself less.
My father is a real idealist, and he’s all about learning. If I asked for a pair of Nikes growing up, it was just a resounding ‘No.’ But if I asked for a saxophone, one would appear and next day and I’d be signed up for lessons. So anything to do with education or learning, my father would spare no expense.
You could imagine a language exactly like English except it doesn’t have connectives like ‘and’ that allow you to make longer expressions. An infant learning truncated English would have no idea about this: They would just pick it up as they would standard English.
Black professors make more than white professors. That’s because we are in demand. I’ll tell you, give me two blacks in institutions of higher learning, one has a Ph.D. from an elite institution and has a certain publication record. You give me a white scholar with the same credentials, and I will take that black scholar.
We often assume that all teachers within a discipline address the same curriculum. This isn’t always the case. We frequently find gaps between goals and what is actually taught, and these gaps can have a lasting impact on a child’s learning.
I always have a slight sense of sadness when Ramadan ends. It’s such an amazing, blessed month. For me it is like a training camp for the year. You reflect on your life and things you can improve on. And it’s not about food and drink, it’s about learning to be a better person.
I started practicing yoga. I started learning some hands-on healing stuff. And I found really good chiropractors, really good massage therapists, and what I found is I’ve been able to actually peel off layers of trauma on my body and actually move better now than I did.
My advice for parents is to support your children, make sure they are having fun. Support them and be there for them. Give them encouragement and make it a life lesson that along the way they are learning to make good decisions and do the right thing.
Let’s be real: dads get a bad rap in the media. We’re talking Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ninja Rap’ bad. More often than not, they’re either pop lockin’ Soul Train-style after learning they aren’t the father, or they’re selfish man-children who have more toys than brain cells.
One of the main focuses of my training sessions is to help individuals find their unique voices in the learning process. We all have our strengths, our weaknesses, our styles of learning, our personalities. Developing introspective sensitivity to these issues is critical to long-term success.
